Here We Go Magic – Over The Ocean
On dreary autumn days like today I often consider escaping the cold and windy streets of London.
Dreams of spending some time chasing the sunshine pervade my thoughts, to somewhere warmer and more exotic where I can while away the Winter months watching sunsets over a warm tide breaking on a sandy beach.
Much preferred to my daily journeys shivering in a Winter coat trying to avoid pavement puddles.
This is one for the many more days over the next few months that will be just like today:
Here We Go Magic – Over The Ocean (last.fm)
Among the calm, repeating synths interspersed with siren-like vocals and slightly distorted instrumental motifs you can almost hear the waves.
The song is from Here We Go Magic‘s 2012 album, A Different Ship, released on Indiana-based label, Secretly Canadian and has a completely different and dreamy feel to the more purposeful indie-pop style of the rest of the album.
Different again is the solo material from singer/songwriter Luke Temple. Try “More Than Muscle” for a bit of a fifties vibe.
Touring Europe in November.
