James Blake – I Never Learnt To Share
This track was playing in the office a couple of weeks ago – on the stereo in the entrance room, as I was heading to the kitchen. I literally had to do a double-take because the sound in the intro was so intense I thought Matt had been hiding his incredibly beautiful voice from us the last 8-9 months only to slip up thinking no one was in the office. Ah-ha! Busted.
Turns out it wasn’t Matt, it was James Blake.
James Blake – I Never Learnt To Share
He’s an electronic/dubstep producer who, at 21 years of age, has released EPs previously on Hessle Audio and R&S Records. This track is, as far as I know, unreleased but apparently there’s a full-length due out next year.
I’ve written and re-written my attempt to do justice to his voice a few times but I’m just not great at sincere and un-cheesy metaphors – it’s incredible so I’m just going to let you listen for yourself…
Assuming one track isn’t enough – also check out this Feist cover and its YouTube video.
