I wish I was at an indie party on a beach.
Today has been beautiful, as was the day before, and the day before that – there aren’t many times I’ve been able to say that, having lived in England my whole life. So I’m relishing the moment (and ignoring the footie result).
If I were lucky enough to be at a beach party right now (I’m not), I’d be requesting this song.
I came across them flicking through The Fly Magazine last month and decided to check out their MySpace. They’re releasing their EP, Sharing Notes, on youWILLBEfollowing Records in July but at the moment the whole EP is available to stream on SoundCloud.
It’s the lazy beat and the ‘yeah whatever’ style of the vocal that draws me to it over and over…as though even the weight of the world would just slip away if I happened to shrug my shoulders while listening to it.
They’re playing Madame JoJo’s on 6 July. I might go, I might not. Whatever.
