Murs – Better Than The Best
The Summer playlist seems to be developing a hip-hop heavy slant so far this year – this one’s a track I found on the Tympanogram music blog a few weeks back.
Murs - Better Than The Best (2007)
The track samples the Four Tops classic, I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch), speeds it up and seasons with a hip-hop beat. It doesn’t seem to be on any of LA-based MC Murs’s full-length albums but was released (as a single?) by Warner in 2007 in the US.
Posted ahead of the upcoming release from Murs and producer 9th Wonder – Fornever, which is out on California-based urban and hip-hop indie label SMC Recordings on 3 May.
Easing back towards the indie of the guitar-variety with some electronica next up… (but there’s more likely than not going to be more of this coming up!)
