I tend to be one of those people who’ll listen to playlists and file things I like away for later. Very organised. If you remember that’s what you’re doing and check the ‘file’ from time to time to pick them up again.
The We Are Hunted spotify playlist has become a regular listen for me, and this is a track that was on it a few months back and pulled into my “digest when you have time” list…I forgot about it until last week when I was having a spotify spring clean:
Explosions In The Sky – Your Hand In Mine (last.fm don’t host music anymore, but there are spotify and hypem links up)
More than a few full play-throughs since then.
It’s slow-build, 8m 15s, post-rock instrumental from Texas-based Explosions In The Sky, who’ve been around since 1999. This song is from their third album, The Earth is Not A Cold Dead Place, released in 2003.
The notes on their last.fm profile are a little frightening, if prophetic in any sense – but I’m assuming it was a terrible coincidence rather than that there was any actual link.
More from the “files” later…
