Bit of a random track to post for the first Musing of the new decade, no?
Well, there’s a reason for it (kind of). I’ve been watching So You Think You Can Dance US for a good few years now (at least until they stopped showing it in the UK) and towards the start of last year I heard there was a SYTYCD UK in the pipeline.
The series has just started on BBC One on Saturday evenings, and so far I’m loving it just as much – the standard of talent is hugely impressive, in styles ranging from hip-hop to contemporary to latin and everything in between and I cannot wait to see how the series develops. This is the track from the opening (auditions) episode that stuck in my mind:
Christina Aguilera – Ain’t No Other Man (we7)
My favourite song of hers, it’s from her 2006 album, Back to Basics, and was the lead track from that record.
I also thought I’d link to some videos of my favourite routines from SYTYCD US:
Lacey & Cameron (Season 3, Contemporary)
Sabra & Dominic (Season 3, Hip Hop)
Sabra & Neil (Season 3, Jazz)
Ivan & Allison (Season 2, Hip Hop)
Hok & Jamie (Season 3, Jazz)
and my favourite:
Heidi & Travis (Season 2, Comtemporary)
Early days yet for SYTYCD UK but I reckon we’ll get some amazing performances out of it…so far I’m rooting for Tommy & Charlie, and here’s their routine from last night:
Tommy & Charlie (UK Season 1, Hip-Hop)
I want to see them krump!

Good news regarding Christina Aguilera’s world tour coming over to Britain. I really hope Leona Lewis is going to appear with her in the concerts over here.
