Our Lady Peace – Superman’s Dead

This band have been around for a LONG time.

First I heard of them was, I think, on the soundtrack for teen slasher flick thriller I Know What You Did Last Summer, which featured Clumsy. Also, randomly, saw them supporting Stereophonics at Wembley Arena in 1999 but haven’t heard of them coming back here since then.

The band are from Toronto, Canada and have released 7 studio albums since they formed in 1992. This is the first track from their 1997 album, Clumsy.

This song is probably most reflective of the style that pervades the majority of their music – aggressive, verging on contemptuous vocals, powerful rock guitars and drums that compliment. They do change it up somewhat, but it’s this vibe that kept them in my top five for several years.

I’ve mellowed out somewhat since those times, but I still love them.

Check out their MySpace for recent news and newer tracks.
