Little Dragon – Feather
Little Dragon have been around for a couple of years – they signed to indie label Peacefrog, also home to José González and Nouvelle Vagues, back in 2007 and released their self-titled debut album, Little Dragon, shortly afterward – but I didn’t know of them until this year.
This is a single from their second album, Machine Dreams, which has just been added to my amazon wishlist. I think I need it on there just in case I ever find myself floating in outer space, or deep sea diving (have Apple invented an anti-gravity waterproof iPod yet? One for the product development team…).
What I’m trying to convey is the sense of wonderment embodied in the vibe of this track, a curiosity and awe at the beauty of the universe.
“The title Machine Dreams seems obvious. These days, humans seem more and more like machines, and as technology evolves, machines feel more human and it becomes fuzzy and beautiful and science fiction-ish. We feel dependent on our machines to create and live, and their sounds reflect us”

The band are from Gothenberg, Sweden, and are vocalist Yukimi Nagano plus her close high school friends Erik Bodin (drums), Fredrik Wallin (bass) and Håkan Wirenstrand (keyboards).
