I don’t understand why this was never released as a single. Ok, it’s not as dance-floor worthy as Promiscuous or Maneater…but it’s definitely on a par with, if not better than Say It Right – in my mind, at least:

Nelly Furtado - Loose

From her 2006 album, Loose, that saw the Portuguese-Canadian singer-songwriter and producer move away from the folk-pop that brought her into the limelight towards a more RnB and hip hop vibe, the Middle-Eastern influences in this track are what makes it really stand out for me.

She’s collaborated with the likes of Jurassic 5, Timbaland and Justin Timberlake during the hip hop leg of her musical journey, but her new album, Mi Plan, is going in a different direction. It’s her first full-length Spanish album and was released September 15. I’m hoping for spatterings of No Hay Igual beats amidst Spanish folk guitars?

I’ve only heard snippets so far on her official site but it looks like the whole album’s available to stream on spotify
