Autolux - Future Perfect
Hadn’t heard of this band until today – but I’ll definitely be checking out more if the rest of it’s anything like this song.
Found on the opening credits for “The Air I Breathe” (13% on Rotten Tomatoes. Perhaps I should check out reviews before watching movies sometimes…although I actually did quite like it.) – it only took the introductory White Stripes-esque drum beats and about one line of vocal to make me pause the Sky+ so that I could run and grab my mobile to Shazam it.
The dark, alluring but also fairly grungy-cacophony feel of the song actually reminds me a little of 90s female-fronted rockers Garbage…and a little of Silversun Pickups.
This one is from their 2004 album ‘Future Perfect’ which, according to their Last.fm write-up, was the product of nearly two years of recording, mixing, remastering, packaging botches, a full recall and destruction and a final release in October 2004.
I think I like it…
