Feist – Inside and Out
Bit cheeky of me as I only heard this for the first time yesterday but I’ve listened to it a few times on the trot and can see it featuring high up in my iPod ‘most played’ list if we look at it in a couple of months…
Recommendation from a mate who shall at this point remain nameless. I know I’ve already posted a couple of Leslie Feist creations/collaborations (see here and here – although the second one, I wasn’t aware it was her until aforementioned mate pointed it out) but I can’t get over her voice. It’s velvety but also sultry and soulful and the crack in it at times makes it all the more appealing – perfection from imperfection.
I think it’s a cover of an old BeeGees 70s Disco track – ‘Love You Inside Out’ – it’s available on spotify but wasn’t able to find an online stream.
The track features on the 2005 release, ‘Let It Die’ along with ‘Mushaboom’, which is gong on my amazon wishlist.
