Fashion Targets Breast Cancer #1mmc
I met some of the friendly folks behind the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer (FTBC) Million Model Catwalk campaign at an event this week and wanted to post something to point people to the cause.
The campaign has been running in the UK through Breakthrough Breast Cancer since 1996 and and was established in 1990 in the US by Ralph Lauren. It has historically raised money by selling T-shirts with the target symbol through various retailers, but this year, the retailers (such as Coast, Top Shop, Warehouse, River Island…) are donating 30% of the price of specially designed black & white items of clothing and accessories (t-shirts, dresses, jewellery, bags…) to the cause instead.
In the UK the FTBC campaign has raised over £9m for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, supporting vital research, education and campaigning work.
This is mostly a music blog and, thankfully, Duncan Fromblue (anyone who has seen Channel 4 sitcom ‘Plus One’ will appreciate that) is one of the celebrity supporters of the campaign, so here’s a link to ‘If You Come Back’.
