Orishas
Ever since I came across this band in 2004 I’ve been scouring the ‘if you like this, you might like X’ recommendations of every music service under the sun for anything that even comes close but to no avail.
Music that’ll make you want to open a bottle of malibu, don your flip flops and over-sized shades and saunter the streets of london with an old-skool stereo on your shoulder – some serious summer-on-a-tropical-beach cuban hip-hop and other.
Incredible live as well – I’ve been lucky enough to catch them twice, at the Queen Elizabeth Hall when I had no idea who they were and again at Somerset House – would gladly go again. If you buy one of their albums, I would make it ‘A Lo Cubano’, which features ‘Represent’ and ‘A Lo Cubano’.
